Handling Rejection

Today we're going to talk about rejection. Everyone deals with rejection eventually - your crush declines your invitation to prom, you get passed over for that promotion at work or that dream job offer, or... an agent or publisher says "thanks but no thanks" to your manuscript. Ouch, right? photo courtesy of Jakayla Toney via Unplash Rejection is part of being a writer, and there are a lot of reasons for it. Maybe that dream agent isn't accepting submissions right now, or the market is already overloaded with stories in a similar vein as yours. Sometimes a rejection means that it's the work that's the problem. And that's okay! Don't take rejection as a sign that you should quit writing - it just means you need to take the opportunity to learn how to write better . Check out this vlog post by iWriterly's Meg LaTorre, where she talks about overcoming a rejection that points out your manuscript might be in need of a rewrite. https://www.youtube.com...
